My sweet puppy loves to swim. Whenever we take him over to the neighbors house for a swim, he gets so excited that he starts barking really high pitched and he tries to wriggle out of my arms. As soon as we open the gate he jumps right in the water. It cracks me up to see that tiny dog paddling around the pool. He wants to be wherever we are in the water and he kind of freaks out when we go under. He will swim for hours, and drink about 1/2 the pool while he is at it. Isn’t he the cutest? 
Last Saturday Becky and I went garage saleing and we found some treasures! Becky found this great wicker patio furniture set and just knew it would be perfect for the balcony of her new apartment, and for $25 for the set, it was hers! It’s kind of hard to tell by this picture, but the cushions were in disarray. One had a big hole in the corner, and the stuffing was eaten out- not to mention it was torn up. Did that stop us? No way! We went to Joann’s and found an amazing deal on outdoor fabric ($3.50 a yard!!) and stitched up a new set to make it pretty!
We actually started sewing in the evening, and finished pretty late- but it was well worth it! Becky was a really great sewing student- and look at her fantastic work!
We had a little supervision from a little black puppy too… 
When we finished, we Becky had a great new patio set! In the picture it looks grey, but in person it is a really pretty sage green color.
We found lots more, and I can’t wait to share as I get some projects finished!

And yes, I do fully recognize that pretty much everything I want to make is from Life in the Fun Lane. And yes, I am pretty much obsessed with her style, and the inexpensive way she does stuff. And yes, the blog is incredibly inspiring. And yes, I would like that kind of light and breezy house one day. And no, not everything I make will be white. Just in case you were wondering.

I ordered new silverware from Bed Bath and Beyond a week or so ago. The one we picked when we got married rusted after a year and I was so sad. Since we have not needed it lately, I have had plenty of time to look- and I found a winner! Ivy Glenn by Reed and Barton.
BB&B was running a super special and so I got a great deal! Also little known, but amazing, facts about BB&B is that when you buy something there, they have a lifetime warranty via their store. Which means, if something happens, and you have your receipt, you get a replacement! SWEET! Also, you cannot use coupons online, but you can if you order online in the store which is also amazing! Also their coupons don’t expire and you can use up to 5 per transaction. Just tidbits of BB&B wisdom to tuck away.
The set is service for 12, but has 24 teaspoons, and has a ridiculous amount of awesome serving ware- and steak knives! If you click the picture you get a better idea!
And in the mail I got a present (that I picked out) for being a great Baby Gap employee. And here is the newest addition that arrived today:

While V watches Ranger’s Games, I entertain myself online. Sometimes it is by reading blogs (ok most of the time) but other times I look all over Craig’s List for cool things near me!
Look what I found!
This amazing teak bench- I am thinking would be great for an entryway, or maybe a hallway if it were wide. I just think it is beautiful. Price tag? $300 or best offer. Verdict? Love it, but Pass.
Check out this beautiful chair! My mom found a really amazing white-washed antique table that will soon be mine when we move, and I am thinking that this would be the perfect chair set for it! It’s kind of hard to see, but there are amazing details! Price tag? Missing! Verdict? emailed seller to find out price. Definitely hinges on the price.
I was actually telling Becky how much I hate when dealers (verses owners) put ads on CL when I clicked on this. Oh my good gracious- my heart fluttered a little bit when I saw this. I have seen lots of bedroom sets, and many are beautiful, but this one is it. Dark wood, gorgeous lines, canopy bed, goodness it’s perfect. Well except for the price tag. But what’s to say a girl can’t save? Price tag? $800 Verdict? Broken hearted, but must pass. But I am def. going to talk with Vince and see if he hearts it like I do. If so, we might have to add a new category to our savings budget. I loved this bed so much that I even googled it to see if other places had it new too…
And they did. They had the whole set! Oh goodness- I just want to clear out the bank account for this beauty. Lets just say that it would take us about 3 years to save for the set. And I think it would be worth it. LOOOOOVEEE it! Insert A&V’s bedding here and sigh with contentment.
SOOOO Yummy! On the way home tonight we saw the new frozen yogurt place, Yogilicious, is now open. It is the coolest fro-yo place around! (And that is saying something with my deep affection for White Chocolate Mousse from TCBY) First of all, you go in, and there are 15 flavors to chose from (well they make 30, but only have 15 at a time)! You get to taste whatever you want, and then put as much as you want in the container! Then fill her up with pretty much any yummy topping you can imagine! You pay by the weight, so it doesn't really matter how many weird combinations you pick! It was DELIGHTFUL! It was a little bit pricey (for Vince and I it was $8) but we were a little ... generous with the fro-yo! And, officially it has made my "When my friends come in town I take them here because it is cool" list.
I got blueberry and strawberry with fresh strawberries, blueberries, kiwi, and raspberries on top. And every single bite was delicious.
Today something happened that only happens 1 time in every century! at 12:34 and 56 sec. the time stamp read 123456789! How cool is that!

All in all it was a good day!
It all started here in the Lone Star State:
A Colorado girl who loved Paris, red, high heels, and decorating.
A Texas girl who loved tea, pink, anything comfy, and flats.
When we first met, I thought she was prissy. She was just so dang gorgeous, and She was wearing 3 inch heels. We were at freshman orientation of all things. Heels for real? I was in a T-shirt, a skirt and my “good” flip-flops. She seemed to fit right in with all the girls around us- and I felt like an outsider.
But as we went through orientation, the two of us just talked and talked.
We learned we love to decorate.
We can’t stand people who are fake.
We were always taller than all the guys in high school, and were so glad that we had made the leap to college “men” (and she already had one who later became her darling Mr.)
We shared a mutual love of shabby chic- and the Eiffel Tower, which she had seen, and I had not.
We were suckers for a good chick flick.
We couldn’t wait to see the bears- Judge and Joy.
And we loved Jesus- and that was what really defined us.
As my mom and I drove home from that orientation, I told her, “That girl, she is awesome. We will be best friends. Sister kind of friends.”
One French-inspired dorm room later, I was right. Rach was certainly not a priss. She was a sister. We laughed until we cried, jumped in rain puddles, took mini vacations, slept in, went to class, sometimes skipped, ate a million chicken quesadillas, wore high heels that made us 6’ and encouraged each other to love Jesus more. We were Roomies.
Over Easter break our freshman year, I got an excited phone call, a picture of the ring and it was bittersweet . In the spring, classes were over and she was packed up, ready to my back to be with her fiancé. We were never roommates again, and actually we never lived in the same city again. But we still got together every time we could.
Two weddings (and two maid/matrons of honor) later- we were still Roomies. 
After our freshman year, the closest we ever lived to each other was 5 hours driving. Now its multiple states. It keeps getting harder and harder to see my sweet friend. I miss her like crazy.
And much to my surprise, I got a phone call Thursday telling me a reunion was due. Sunday to be exact. Right here in the Lone Star State.
Roomie, I love you, I am so glad I got to see you! I miss you like crazy- and I can’t wait to see you again!
