Things I Have Lost in the Last 2 Weeks

1.) Bobby pins, lots of them
2.) Some coupons
3.) My grey velour Victoria's Secret hoodie
4.) A fight with Vince
5.) Enough weight to fit into my bridesmaid dress!!!!!

CELEBRATE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am so excited, but it won't stop here my friends, not here! I am keeping on kicking this booty in gear! Yay!!

Family Video has won my vote!

We just got a Family Video near us. I have to say, I was pretty skeptical. Blockbuster is a thief that likes to overcharge, and we have become almost exclusive Redbox renters. But when I want to pick up something that isn't "new", Redbox doesn't do much good. Anyhow, we checked out Family Video and I am convinced its awesome! First of all- they have tons of movies! second, anything you rent, you get for 5 days! Third, they have free movies! Fourth, they have a sweet deal for new customers! I could go on, but that really isn't the point...

Here's what I got tonight:

P.S. I Love You
The Holiday

+A Good Year(that was my "risk" movie)
$1.08
Can you believe? 3 movies, for five days, that are really not that old at all- for a buck plus tax! Shut up!!!

And basketball too

My man kicked off this summer's basketball season tonight! Of course, this is after he led his softball team to victory last night by slamming a home run into left center field last night- clinching the Championship game for the team (and consequently the whole season!). He played really well tonight at basketball too! And that is not to mention that he is a downright essential part of the flag football team he plays on. My man of many talents blows me away!

Finally making plans

I really want to watch P.S. I Love You and The Holiday. I have been wanting to watch them for months now. They are such sweet movies and they make me so happy. I sobbed my way through P.S. I Love You, but I love love love it! The Holiday is just so fun, charming, and romantic. Seeing as I have the day off on Wednesday (and my hubby is working), I am thinking a delightfully girly movie marathon would be perfect! Anyone want to join? I will even lot you throw a movie to watch in too! Any takers?

Also, for an unrelated side note- it was always really hard to find a tickle spot on Jonas (you know it makes their legs twitch like crazy) but yesterday something must have happened, and now pretty much anytime I pet his sweet little tummy his little legs go crazy. I hope this change is here to stay- it cracks me up every time!

And I can't wait until Greek next week!!!! The preview was stinking CRAZY! Can't wait!!!

Weekend+fun getaway= bliss!

Our sweet retreat was fantastic! We loved every minute of the blessing of house sitting for friends! We were just sad to have to go home. Lounging by the gorgeous salt water pool, swimming, relaxing in the waterfall hot tub, grilling on the master chef wood-burning grill, spending time with my wonderful husband- it was just the retreat we needed! They had the cutest 2 dogs that we got to enjoy and a little cat that actually wanted to cuddle- which was so fun! Know what else is so awesome? We are going back this weekend! Yay! Thank you thank you if you are reading this!

Sorry about not having pictures, but maybe next weekend!

One day

One day I will have a sweet petite little home, and I will fill it with things that are very Vince and me. Pretty, soft, bright, muted, eclectic, and lived-in. When you walk in the door I don't need people to say oh my gosh, your home should be in a magazine! But I do want to feel totally at peace when I walk in the front door and drop my bag on the floor. I love so many different styles, and I hope that I can fill my little space with all things that are us. Things that are maybe like these (i am really feeling the seaglass blue right now, which is pretty obvious):

from furniture from home
from smith and hawkenrug from anthropologieletters from pottery barn
duvet from india rosea kindel furniture paint finishfrom lamps plus

And maybe a new one of these too!!!

My Sweet Sweet Love...

brought these home for me yesterday! I could not even believe it! As I have already talked about, peonies are my all time favorite flower and I have always always wanted some. Sweet Rach sent me the amazing silk perfect peonies that will last forever- and they are a dream! Here in Tejas it is downright impossible to have real peonies. They are sold at very few flower shops for about 2-3 weeks a year so finding them is crazy difficult. That is unless you have an amazing husband like I do who finds them for you!
To think, last week I didn't have any peonies! Now I am in peony heaven! Somebody pinch me.

Thank you my sweet sweet love for bringing me such an amazing and thoughtful gift!

Also Operation Bridesmaid is well on its way! I have not missed a day- and so far I have been reaching my goal for every day! Sunday and Monday I was still working into the longer workouts, but starting Tuesday I have gone at least 6 miles every day! In fact, one of the days I went almost 9, and two more I went 7.5! I am really excited, and I am feeling pretty good! I am hoping that this all pays off! It sure is a time commitment to walk so much though- so if you are wondering what I am up to- I'm walking! Come with! It is fun I promise!

Operation Bridesmaid Day 1: Success!

Well today was great, and my bum is tired!
I stuck to my eating plan, Vince and I played tennis for an hour plus we walked (really fast I might add) for 3 and a little miles. Tennis was good! I was catching my breath a bit, but I kept up, and I was actually better than I thought I would be. A good 4 out of 5 shots went basically where I wanted them to go, and that seems like a plus. Tennis is the one sport that Vince was not born being good at* (even though he is still pretty dang good), so we were learning together. About half way through I asked if he was tired. His response? "Of course not- what... you mean you are tired???" (As if that is a big shock!) I mean I had been chasing balls all around the court! After a few words about needing encouragement, he was a sweet-heart again.
We came back and had dinner, and then we went out again to walk walk walk! Actually I have been walking a lot as is, and I was planning on 4.5 miles tonight, but we got out a bit late and that seemed crazy with it being late and all. Tomorrow though... 4.5 miles! And I am thinking about my salsa cardio dvd. We will just have to see!

There is a cool website called My Pyramid that is really helpful to know about good nutrition that a nutritionist suggested when I was in college. They have a personalized (and FREE) program that tracks everything you eat, and all the exercise you do, and it is pretty sweet. I started my account again today, and I am a fan. You can check it out too if you want- it's My Pyramid Tracker- you have to set up an account, but again its free!! My favorite!
All in all a great day! I am going to sleep well tonight!
(And please don't worry, this is not going to become a diet blog... I am just excited for day 1 success!)

*Disclaimer: my husband is fantastic at pretty much any sport he plays. People ask him to play on teams all the time, and he is just that good that he can- and do a great job at it! Currently he plays on 2 softball teams, just finished up flag-football season, and he is about to kick off the basketball league with a new team. Yep, he's that good!

Operation Bridesmaid!

I am super excited to be a bridesmaid for my sweet friend. I love love love weddings, and I love that I get to be part of her special day.
My dress came in a few weeks ago and I had not made it downtown D to get it yet, so over dinner tonight the bride brought it to me! Then I got home and I tried it on. That is where the good news ends.
The dress, while beautiful, is too small. It could zip, but it was not a pretty sight when it did.
Thus, Operation Bridesmaid is starting tomorrow.
I am going on a strict regimen of running my squishy butt off!

Good thing the hubby and I enjoyed 4 Cheese Pasta and Wild Blueberry Cheesecake from Cheesecake Factory before I tried on the dress.
