Day 3 with the Bunnies

They are growing so sweetly!

They still have closed little eyes, but they are getting much bigger, and are getting fur now. They don't really look like little mice anymore! One even made a few noises and almost hopped today :) Bunnies are so fun.

Oh Vera!

I have been drooling over the 2009 Vera Bradley Agenda for months. Guys it is darling. Each month has a different Vera Design for the pages! I'm in love! The other day I was at the Vera store in Allen, (FABULOUS by the way!) and I came THIS CLOSE to buying it.

I resisted, I can't rationalize $30 for a planner I didn't really need.

Anyhow, I am finishing my other shopping which brought me to Ross. I think half the things I own are from there. I was finishing up and swung by to check out the thank-you note section since we use a lot of those these days and what did I see???

4 New Little Additions to Our Growing Family!

No I am not pregnant.
But I am the proud mother of 4 baby bunnies that have nested in our backyard!
Tuesday night I came home, let Jonas out, and he stayed out for about 30 mins which is a little out of character. I went to call him in and he was really reluctant to come in when I called. His paws were covered in dirt when finally came in so I went out to check out the digging damage with my little flashlight.
Much to my surprise I found a hole- but not dug by my crazy puppy but a momma bunny to house her newborn babies! I wanted to make sure Jonas had not done the unthinkable and harm these little angels. And he didn't. But that did mean that I got to hold the little ones. We had baby bunnies we rescued from a flood a few years ago so I knew the mommas world come back if we touched them. But just to make sure we laid some string across the nest so we could tell if the momma came back or not (she did!)


So no we have a family of 7! Jonas is really protective over them, and has not tried to hurt them, in fact he tries to cover them up with dirt. The sweetheart. All the same I am nervous to leave him in the backyard. I guess we will have to walk him for the next few weeks.
But I am going to try to remember to put up pictures of each day as they grow up. It is crazy how fast they change! They have already doubled in size!

I am already behind in my goal so you will see first the pictures from Wed. morning, and then the next are from today!

This was today! Look how much bigger they are! They still have closed eyes, and closed ears, but they are getting so much cuter already!

Vintage photos anyone?

I am so intrigued by vintage photographs. I love the grain, and the way the light is just a bit filtered, and the people seem timeless. Especially ones of my family. My mom has amazing really old photos going back generations, and I just love the history of them. I was always jealous I wasn't IN them. Now I can be! Sort of anyway! I am always torn between making Valentines day a big deal, or just doing a sweet small thing for Vince. Given our budget this year, I am going for the latter I think! What about you? there is a tornado! so i am blogging?

Right now I am sitting in the middle of a huge good ole fashioned Texas storm. Its pretty bad here, and I am thankful that Vince, Jonas and I are all at home together. We just grabbed the flashlights, and have our tornado hideout plan in place. Vince is on the phone with his parents- their house is in the direct path of a tornado. Check out the map!
Scary huh? Vince says dogs have a internal sense that lets them know before we do that something is wrong. He said just keep an eye on the dog- he will let us know if we need to take cover. Well he is asleep next to me right now. and actually we are pretty much out of the storm now. Note to self, check out the dog during a possible tornado.

In other news...

Today when I was out running errands, I went to Petco to get Jonas some supplies- and I feel like I just get a million dollar deal. Jonas has been shedding like crazy- I think he is losing his winter coat, even though it is Feb, and when he sheds, he SHEDS. He hopped up onto my bed last night, and left a little furry messy all over the place. I wanted to change the sheets, but it was late and sleep won out. A few days ago I took the heavy duty pet hair roller to him, and after 12 sheets that were covered and ridiculously hairy- I gave up. But today there was finally a breakthrough! I bought this little guy:

the love glove. And yes, it's really the name. Seriously! This little gem works wonders! I tried the furminator, and although I know some people swear by it- it didn't take more than 4 hairs off my sweet hairy puppy! Look at the awesome job the love glove did! It left a small animal! The best part is it is only $8.99 online! I paid $12.99 in the store, which seeing the online price makes me sad- but it is WELL worth the money!

While I was there I picked up a new nylabone too- these are a lifesaver. Jonas was one reluctant puppy in letting me take his picture. He was paranoid I was going to take it from him, which is kind of ironic since I bought it for him! Who am I to understand the puppy logic?

Finally, I have some exciting news to share! I'm making a T-shirt quilt! I have saved up all my Baylor shirts from years past. They have a million sweet memories attached, and I just cannot bear to part with them! I decided to make a t-shirt quilt out of all my great shirts, and I am so excited! I have been on the hunt for some great green and yellow fabric for the past few months, and I didn't see anything too grand. Nothing just screamed my name. That is not until Remy and I went to hobby lobby a few days ago! Inspiration hit and even though I have seen those same fabrics 100 times, I found the perfect answer to my quilt back delima! It is going to be a series of uneven stripes, and I couldn't be more happy! Here are the fabrics I chose:

I do love this awesome vintage-feel fabric by Heather Bailey- I spotted it on Purl Soho but does it work? I need to think it out for a bit. I can't wait to see the quilt all done!

Ok that's it! Its not even raining outside anymore! Storm avoided!

Origins is yummy...

One of my great Christmas presents was a herbal hot/cold shoulder wrap from Origins. They have fantastic smelling stuff, and it is a great store. Unfortunately, I have horrible allergies. Since I am allergic to mint, menthol, eucalyptus, and ginger- I'm pretty much out of luck with every product in their store. I had to return my lovely shoulder wrap, much to my dismay. When I went in, I didn't really know what to do. I explained to the nice woman my sad problem, and she was really understanding. She suggested a few things- and she was so sweet to check all the ingredients for me... but there was really only 1 thing to chose from.

Yep, that's right. I was skeptical, but willing to at least try it, and wouldn't you know... it's fantastic! And in case you are thinking... "Autumn, you are going to start smelling like a man!?!?" the answer is no. Actually it smells like basically nothing. But quenches my skin like no other.

The lady suggested that I get it for my husband. I informed her "My husband says lotion is for women." and then I got it for myself.

Wishing I could Nest

I am so thankful for Vince's family. I can't even express my gratitude for letting us stay with them for months already, and probably many more to come. I mean this from the deepest of my heart.
With that said, I really want to NEST!
When we got married, I loved every moment of putting together our first home together, and it was such a joy. Even though the place was tiny, and horribly dirty when we started, I loved making it not just an apartment, but our home.
I knew it would be hard to leave all the things that we have accumulated through the years. I had not idea how overwhelming it would be to want to have my own space and place and style again.

I have been spending an unhealthy amount of time on realtor.com. In my head, we have already gotten a house, and I know what every room will look like. The color of the walls, the rug on the floor, the furniture, and how perfectly it will all fit together.
I have always loved decorating, and I just can't wait to see it all come together when we finally get home.
For now, I will keep dreaming, and looking for the right house on realtor.com.
